Thank you to Myra for graciously allowing me to share photos of her baby, Peanut, who was born a few days ago. He died at 9 weeks, 5 days, and she courageously carried him for an additional 9 weeks. He was born after two attempts at medical induction (at home) and was beautiful and perfect despite the long wait. You can see his photos on the Photographs page under the 9 Weeks heading.
May their memory be eternal!
These stories and photographs help more people than you can possibly know. I get emails all the time from people thanking me for providing the information and photographs on this site, and that help is largely due to the gracious submissions by parents like you. At the very least (and this isn’t a small thing) these photographs and stories give other grieving parents the consolation that they are not alone, that their babies did and do matter. Thank you so much for your assistance.
Many thanks to A., Inga, Rebecca and Sara for sharing photographs of their sweet babies, and to Inga for sharing her story as well. You can find all of these on the Your Stories page and the Photographs page. May the memory of these babies be eternal!
The service released by the OCA will be added soon to the Prayers and Liturgics page. I also have some other maintenance duties that will be attended to.
Thank you for your patience!
I am anticipating a few more stories and photos will be submitted soon, so there should be more site updates before long. Thanks to everyone who has submitted their stories and photos, or commented on the pages, offering comfort to others and even sharing their own stories in the comment sections, or who have emailed me to let me know how helpful this site was. As you can imagine, while the role of managing this site isn’t exactly cheerful, it is very rewarding and those words of encouragement certainly help! Lost Innocents has been online for almost exactly four years and in those four years many babies have been honored and many people have found some measure of peace (and help). While I started this site, it is by no means a solo work. Again, thank you all. May God reward your labors!
